What's new in each version of PinMark Sticky. Get the latest release on the Mac App Store.

1.6.0 · 2026-09-10

Sharing is the note itself again: what you copy or export is the full note you designed, with its own color, paper, and font. Paper styles grew from 4 to 16, and PinMark can now live in the menu bar.

  • Share a text note as the complete snapshot you designed — full text included, wide tables wrapped, no fixed-ratio crop. The four share styles and the ratio picker introduced in 1.5.0 were removed.
  • 16 paper styles across writing, natural, and illustrated families; None, Lined, Dotted, Grid, and Fiber are free for everyone.
  • PinMark can run from the menu bar instead of the Dock, or both.
  • Headings up to H5, a foldable slash menu, and faster LaTeX editing with inline and block formulas.
  • Links form as you type, with ⌘K to edit and a preview bar under the cursor.

1.5.0 · 2026-08-10

Content flows in both directions: share notes as long images, save them as Word or HTML documents, and send documents from the system share sheet straight onto your desktop.

  • Share text notes as square, portrait, story, or full-length images — long notes keep their font size instead of shrinking.
  • Image notes can be shared too, in their current style and without the desktop rotation angle.
  • Save As exports Markdown, plain text, HTML, and Word; formulas become native, editable Word equations.
  • Send Word, PDF, Markdown, and more to PinMark from the share sheet and they become editable text notes.
  • Emoji search now speaks Chinese, Japanese, and Korean; deletion gained confirmation and undo.

1.4.0 · 2026-07-08

Text notes became a lightweight but capable desktop Markdown editor, and notes became easier to organize and automate.

  • Floating format menu and an inline link editor.
  • Mermaid diagrams preview right inside the note.
  • Arrange Notes tidies the desktop into a grid, photo wall, color groups, or cascade — and restores the previous layout.
  • Paper styles and an in-app color popover for personalization (Pro).
  • The pinmark CLI grew to full CRUD, and a local MCP server lets AI clients work with your notes.

1.3.0 · 2026-06-05

Deep platform integration: Shortcuts, Siri, a command-line tool, a share extension, and a polished set of image note styles.

  • Create notes with Shortcuts, Siri, or the pinmark command line.
  • Share extension: send text or images from any app to the desktop as a note.
  • Refined image note styles — Polaroid, Frame, Pinned, Taped, Vintage, Black & White.
  • Find and open notes from Spotlight; new Format menu and more consistent shortcuts.
  • Improved accessibility: VoiceOver, Full Keyboard Access, and Reduce Motion.

1.2.0 · 2026-05-11

A refinement release focused on stability: image notes, multi-display docking, editing, and sync feedback.

  • Image notes use less memory, open faster, and behave reliably across spaces and displays.
  • Fixed note positions with multiple monitors and edge docking.
  • Smoother text editing, scrolling, and copy-as-Markdown.
  • Clearer sync status feedback with fewer redundant refreshes.

1.1.0 · 2026-04-28

Screenshot notes arrived, alongside three text density presets and offer code redemption.

  • Screenshot notes: capture a screen area straight into an image note, with fine-tuning after you let go.
  • Three text density presets: Compact, Standard, and Relaxed.
  • Redeem offer codes from Settings or the upgrade window.
  • Stability fixes for image notes across multiple displays and sleep/wake.

1.0.0 · 2026-04-19

The first App Store release: Markdown text notes and image notes that stay on your Mac desktop.

  • Markdown text notes and free-form image notes with opacity and rotation.
  • Edge docking: text notes slide away at the screen edge and return on hover.
  • Ghost Mode (Pro) turns image notes into click-through reference overlays.
  • OCR (Pro) extracts text from images; templates and optional iCloud sync (Pro) round out the release.
